Sophie necklace

I love sourcing new semi-precious stones to use in my designs, and as soon as I discovered this beautiful Argentinian blue calcite, the soft tones of blue, turquoise and tan sang to me! I love unsual shapes of stones, and these gently faceted rectangular stones had a character of their own that I was drawn to straight away.

Some of these Argentinian calcite stones feature a natural, organic tan-coloured banding, often the result of magnesium trapped inside the mineral structure during its formation. I wanted the design of the Sophie collection to mirror this feature. After much experimentation, I found that alternating different shapes of light gold hematite with tiny white freshwater pearls in between the Argentinian calcite achieved this, creating a sophisticated and timeless necklace. As with all genuine natural gemstones, the colour variations are formed in nature over thousands of years, so will vary from stone to stone, adding to the uniqueness of each Sophie necklace.

The Sophie necklace is 17″ long and is finished with a 13mm sterling silver lobster clasp. A sterling silver extension chain can be provided upon request. There is a matching Sophie bracelet and Sophie earrings available. Your necklace will arrive in a beautifully packaged Suzie Jasper gift box.
