about

My background was in marketing and then teaching children, however, I’ve always been creative, and did a number of freelance creative projects before launching Suzie Jasper.

I started weekly Pottery classes eighteen years ago, and which I still attend one afternoon a week, with many of the same people with whom I started my pottery journey! I soon started to make jewellery, and adore the creative process of both disciplines. I am based in Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire.

My jewellery is largely self-taught. I enjoy learning new jewellery techniques so that I can keep up the jewellery’s reputation for subtle elegance in wearable, contemporary designs whilst allowing my style to develop. I love tailor-making jewellery to suit a customer’s requirements. This can be from simply changing the clasp, fitting or size of current jewellery design; to a full bespoke design service – perfect for bridal parties, birthday gifts or a for a group of friends to celebrate a special occasion.

The first sculptures that I did were of my two English Setters 18 years ago, and I enjoyed the process so much that I challenged myself to sculpt a variety of different breeds. Before long I was approached to do my first dog sculpture commissions. When I take on dog sculpture commission, I like to meet the dog and owner in person, so that I can get to know the character of the dog, and observe the relationship between the dog and owner which is so special and unique.

My ceramic leaf dishes have enabled me to discover the joy of exploring different ceramic finishing techniques using oxides, stains and glazes. They are made from individual leaves that I grow in my garden, so each one is truly unique.

THE PERFECT TEAM

Jasper was my super Tibetan Terrier, who was famously known as my Head of Marketing and co-founder of Suzie Jasper.  He was the most tremendous company and such a character. Sadly, Jasper passed away in March 2021, and is very much missed.

Tibetan Terrier Rafa came into my life in December 2021, and it was love at first sight.  He is a wonderfully happy boy, a clown and he loves everybody that he meets – both four-legged and two-legged. He has completed his Suzie Jasper internship and is now my Head of Customer Relations, and he is a highly valued and very popular member of the team.
