Jasper – lying

“When Jasper was a tiny puppy, he used to lie with his fat little legs and bottom sprawled out across the floor when he was playing with his toys.  Although his hips no longer allow his legs to sprawl back, to this day he still does this irresistible expression with his head and paws when he’s trying to get me to play with his ball!

I was very keen to do a sculpture of Jasper as soon as I got him as a puppy, as I was aware that I would need to explore new techniques to capture his fur and I felt that this pose would make a wonderful sculpture.  I adore this sculpture of him as it really depicts his playfulness and fun puppy-like personality”.
